First time?
You will be fine
"I am not flexible." "I am not athletic." "I have never done yoga." Those are exactly the people beach yoga in Okinawa is for. Here we cover what beach yoga is, how the day unfolds, what to wear and bring, and answers to the worries we hear most often.
Nature itself
becomes the studio
Beach yoga simply means practising yoga on a mat laid out on the sand. Unlike a studio closed in by four walls, there is the sound of the waves, the sea breeze, the soft light of dawn and dusk — wrapped entirely in Okinawa's nature, you notice your breathing has deepened before you thought about it.
The style favours comfort, caring more about breath and sensation than executing a fixed form perfectly. Because groups are small and nobody is watching you, it is in fact especially well suited to people new to yoga. Do not overthink it — start with one deep breath. That is enough.
Give your trip a moment
that unwinds body and mind
For a trip that stays with you
For those who want more than sightseeing. An hour you can only have at dawn or dusk in Okinawa.
New to exercise or yoga
No experience and no flexibility required. Unhurried movement, nothing forced.
Travelling alone
Solo participants are very welcome. We take care to keep the atmosphere easy among whoever happens to be there.
With someone who matters
With family, a partner or friends. Time spent inside the same view brings people closer.
Making the most of an early start
A day that begins moving in clear air and morning light becomes something out of the ordinary.
To settle body and mind
As you lay your breathing over the rhythm of the waves, a tightly wound mind slowly comes loose.

A 60-minute lesson
From the warm-up through the Okinawa-original poses to the cool-down. The photos we take along the way are yours to keep.
The lesson itself and the poses you will not find anywhere else are covered on the original poses page.
Come in clothes you can move in. In summer you will be moving in strong sun and heat, so please bring something to drink. These also make it more comfortable.
Yoga mats are provided, so there is no need to bring one. They are included in the price.
Sessions are cancelled in rain. If we cancel, we contact you at least one hour before the scheduled start, so there is nothing to worry about. When we cancel the session, there is no charge at all.
You can also change your plans after booking, free of charge until 17:30 the day before. Book freely and fit it around the weather and your schedule while you travel.
