Kana

Born in Tokyo, raised in Kanagawa. She travelled to Ishigaki for three years to deepen her study of yoga and completed her teaching qualification there. On finishing, a yoga retreat facility offered her work, and she decided to move to Ishigaki. She closed the yoga school she had run in Tokyo for about two and a half years and moved her practice to the island. She now runs a small yoga school, SivaYoga, on Ishigaki, holds beach yoga sessions regularly, and teaches at day-care services in town. She travels to India every year to continue her own study. On Ishigaki she hosts an island retreat, "Meeting Your True Self", and organises retreat tours to India. Even a single session can leave you clear-headed and meeting a new version of yourself — that is what she teaches towards.
